The mountains in the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena
Before you pack your rucksack and put on your hiking boots, we’d like to give you a quick overview of the mountains in this expansive hiking region: In the south, you’ll find the Lechtal Alps and, in the east, the Mieminger range. Both are impressive mountain ranges with two-thousand-metre summits only separated by the Fern Pass. The Zugspitze marks its northeastern end – with 2,962 metres, it’s Germany’s tallest mountain – and it directly connects to the Wetterstein range. The Ammergau Alps stretch from Bavaria to Tyrol, where the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena becomes slightly “flatter” in the northwest.

Because during the colder months of the year, you can go ice climbing at various locations.

The “SummitLynx” app lets you review all the tours you’ve already completed. Additionally, you’ll have the option of adding new tours to your growing collection.
